Imam Khomeini Airport City Annual Report 2016 shows growth in passenger traffic and annual revenues
Imam Khomeini Airport city has reported an increase of 8% in passenger traffic for the year end 2016. Its annual results released today (15 March) account for 7.8 million of passenger traffic and show an increase in revenues. Flight movements increased to 54,000, representing a 6% growth rate. Cargo throughput also increased by 9% to 148 thousand tones. During the financial year, revenue at IKAC has increased to 4,623 billion IRR (145 million USD). In particular, the IKAC revenues consist of 82% aeronautical which is equal to approximately 3,817 Billion IRR (120 million USD) and 18% non-aeronautical revenue which is equal to approximately 807 Billion IRR (25 million USD). IKAC’s Chairman & Chief Executive Officer, Mahmood Navidi said: “We are cooperating with NACO, one of the best airport consulting companies worldwide, to be assured that we are creating the best facilities. The master plan is being refined by NACO+3T based on our strength and opportunities”. “Our goal is to reach a capacity of over 100 million passengers in the ultimate phase. Furthermore, we are planning to have a sustainable and green airport city. We are working on the future of Iran and we are going to be part of the new silk road ”, said Mahmood Navidi.
